photoblog image Eye Opener
Someone once said, the eyes are the window into a mans soul ! I definitely agree. The mask has finally decided to unveil. looking at this picture for me is really strange. I would like to know what you all think.

If you look really closely, you can see what i did to get the picture. I must say it was quite a challenge, and i think i took over 30 shots b4 i could get one that i felt was usable.

This is my way of getting myself of the macro addiction ! for the past 2 weeks I have been doing macro
and though this is still a macro shot, YOU WILL AGREE THAT IT IS RADICALLY DIFFERENT FROM YESTERDAYS SHOT !!!!!

This shot has actually opened my eyes to certain features that I was not aware of.

Interesting shot. You can even see the individual eyelashes smile

Mobolaji Kamson: Yes I know, the first time i am taking such a "critical" look.

Veloran from Singapore 12 Jun 2006, 03:55
How's that for a self portrait? Nice... I think this would be even better if you could frame your eye in the centre, but that probably means you'll end up trying another 30 shots. tongue
Mobolaji Kamson: Veloran, I have to admit thats exactly what i was trying to achieve, but i had to get off the bus, by the time I was on the thirty somethinth, try !! sad

Nice Shirt! wink
Mobolaji Kamson: Ever sooooo observant !! I was wondering who would notice first !

Similar concept but did this in two shots! Was kinda lucky and also using a wide lens too. grin

Well done.
Mobolaji Kamson: This one was really nice, it was a lot more revealing !

E Etomi from Nigeria 12 Jun 2006, 09:40
How did Jide see your shirt? Eye see youu
Mobolaji Kamson: You see nothing !!!!! The Mask never shows his true form !!!! Ha Ha Ha !

Steve from Great Britain (UK) 12 Jun 2006, 11:16
If you took this yourself, macro with a 100mm lens, I'm amazed you managed to get it in only 30 shots! Ditto what Veloran says about framing, but now I'm even more amazed that you did it on the bus! Any other passengers on board?

Although the reflections are quite revealing, they're also distracting from the purpose of the photo, it would be better if you could actually see the colour and differentiation between your iris and pupil. Maybe on your next bus trip. smile

You wear soft contact lenses, right?
Mobolaji Kamson: Yep ! another observant one !

Mona 12 Jun 2006, 11:24
Hahaha, I can see the shirt too. Well done. Nice concept.

Mobolaji Kamson: Thanks

very nice macro Mask, another nice reflection shot (Etomis), well done and keepp it up

deji77 from Europe 12 Jun 2006, 14:36
Liking the concept. You try oh! 30 shots?! Talk about tenacity smile
However for me there is a lot fighting for attention in the image: eyelashes, eyeball, blood veins, skin & bumps, reflection, etc. I think an even tighter crop excluding much of the skin (& bumps) might have created a more pleasing image.
Its looking kinda creepy....
Mobolaji Kamson: Hence the title "EYE OPENER" I personally will actually be interested in going even deeper i.e Photomicrographic Images. As for the "kinda creepy" you should have seen the sepia/metalic looking version ! Lol.

Attah from Great Britain (UK) 12 Jun 2006, 14:38
Great concept. Agree with comments re framing.
Mobolaji Kamson: Ok Ok Ok, I don hear, well try this again tommorow, and see how it goes !
smile

Mr. Kamson, I must say this picture looks better in technicolour. Steve's suggestion on colour differentiation is an interesting one - desaturating your reflection may not be a bad idea. If you ever decide to try that out - it'll be fun to see.
